Mortgage Loan Officer - Retail (Mortgage Lending)

Location: Mobile, Alabama, United States; office-based. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis; immigration sponsorship is not available.

What you will do

• Develop internal and external referral sources to grow mortgage loan business.
• Advise clients on mortgage loan options and other financial products using consultative selling techniques.
• Support customers from loan approval through closing and secure information required for underwriting.
• Advise customers on completing loan applications and maintain ongoing client relationships.
• Identify opportunities to cross-sell financial products and services.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least one year of mortgage loan origination experience, preferably at a bank.
• NMLS license.
• Knowledge of mortgage procedures, documentation, and underwriting guidelines.
• Effective written and verbal communication, organizational, multitasking, and PC/internet skills.
• Current authorization to work full-time in the United States; visa or immigration sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Existing pipeline and book of business.
• Bachelor's degree.
• Knowledge of conventional, FHA/VA, construction lending, and portfolio mortgage programs.
