Manager, Data Engineering (AI)

What you will do

• Lead, coach, and mentor a team of data engineers while supporting technical and career growth.
• Own the architecture, design, implementation, maintenance, and scaling of streaming and batch data pipelines.
• Guide the ingestion and transformation of large volumes of structured and less structured hospitality data into high-fidelity data products.
• Drive improvements in data quality, system stability, observability, pipeline performance, latency, and reliability.
• Champion an AI-first development culture and collaborate with product, engineering, support, and business teams.

Requirements

• Experience managing engineering teams and developing engineers through coaching and mentoring.
• Strong hands-on data engineering background with ETL/ELT, batch and streaming pipelines, complex transformations, and data modeling.
• Professional proficiency in Python for large-scale data processing and pipeline development.
• Strong knowledge of data cloud technologies, streaming systems such as Google Cloud Pub/Sub or Kafka, and cloud databases such as BigQuery, Spanner, Snowflake, or Databricks.
• Experience breaking down architectural initiatives, estimating work, planning delivery, and optimizing technical systems.
• Fluent English and excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with LLMs, agentic workflows, or AI-assisted coding tools.
• Experience building integrations with third-party APIs and external data sources.
• Experience in hospitality technology or a similar industry such as aviation.
