Consultant Data Engineer (Google Cloud)

What you will do

• Build data engineering solutions and machine learning infrastructure for client projects and internal AI solutions.
• Design and operate Google Cloud environments covering compute, storage, IAM, cloud architecture, cost optimization, and Infrastructure as Code.
• Develop Python server-side tools, including bulk data processing services, REST APIs, authentication, and ETL scripts.
• Containerize and orchestrate applications with Docker and Kubernetes for data science workloads.
• Automate CI/CD pipelines and support deployment, maintenance, and the full code lifecycle of data science applications.
• Implement security solutions such as certificate management, HTTPS, OAuth2 authentication, and credential management.

Requirements

• Master’s degree with a strong quantitative component, such as econometrics, physics, mathematics, statistics, or quantitative finance.
• 1.5–3 years of relevant experience in data, DevOps, cloud, or software engineering.
• Strong Python skills, experience with SQL databases, and familiarity with PostgreSQL; knowledge of NoSQL and MongoDB is beneficial.
• Experience with at least one cloud platform, preferably GCP, and familiarity with Docker, CI/CD automation, DevOps practices, and Infrastructure as Code.
• Interest in data and AI topics, strong security awareness, and good interpersonal and teamwork skills.
• Excellent written and spoken English and Dutch are required.

Nice to have

• Experience with AWS or Azure alongside GCP.
• Familiarity with Terraform, Kubernetes, GitLab CE, and MongoDB.
