Location: Berlin, Germany; office-first with the possibility to work remotely 52 days per year

What you will do
- Build and maintain a fast, reliable backend for the pharmacy marketplace.
- Solve backend scaling challenges and own complex technical areas.
- Define and evolve platform architecture through strong technical decisions.
- Contribute to customer-facing product development and product discussions.
- Work across platform boundaries when this creates value for the product.
Requirements
- 5+ years of backend engineering experience in production environments.
- 3+ years of recent experience with Kotlin or another JVM language.
- Strong software architecture skills and relational database expertise, including PostgreSQL schema design and safe migrations.
- Proven experience developing customer-facing products.
- Experience with AI tools and modern AI practices.
- Strong written and spoken English; the role is based in Berlin with an office-first setup.
Nice to have
- Experience as a tech lead or engineering team lead.
- AWS and Kubernetes experience.
- Observability experience with metrics and logging.
- Experience with analytics workloads using Spark or Scala.
- Full-stack experience, especially with React.
