TL;DR
Senior Java Backend Developer (Java/Spring): Building and maintaining backend services and ETL pipelines in a hybrid consulting environment with an accent on microservices, containerisation, and test-driven development. Focus on designing reliable distributed services, applying TDD/BDD and CI/CD practices, and improving systems in an Agile environment.
Location: Porto, Portugal; hybrid work with attendance twice a week. Candidates must be based in Portugal and have Portuguese or EU citizenship or a valid work permit.

What you will do
- Develop and maintain Java backend services.
- Design and work with Spring-based microservices.
- Build and support ETL pipelines.
- Apply TDD and BDD practices to improve software quality.
- Work with containerisation and CI/CD practices in an Agile environment.
- Collaborate with clients and contribute to continuous technical improvement.
Requirements
- 6–9 years of experience with Java, Spring, and backend development.
- Proficiency in TDD/BDD, microservices, containerisation, ETL pipelines, and CI/CD.
- Experience working in Agile environments with a critical, improvement-driven mindset.
- Fluent English at B2+ level.
- Availability for a hybrid schedule based in Porto, two days per week.
- Portuguese or EU citizenship, or a valid Portuguese work permit.
