Data & AI Engineer

Location: Lyon, France; hybrid work with Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday onsite and remote work up to 2 days per week.

Salary: €48,000–€72,000 per year.

What you will do

• Own delivery of defined data pipeline workstreams, transforming raw data into scalable and reliable insights in cloud environments.
• Develop, tune, and refactor data models for query performance, workload efficiency, and maintainability.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions and delivery plans.
• Implement data quality checks, governance standards, remediation paths, observability, and operational monitoring.
• Build and improve ETL processes and machine learning workflows that provide clean, AI-ready data for applications and downstream products.
• Apply data engineering practices including design patterns, CI/CD integrations, containerized deployments, code reviews, and technical documentation.

Requirements

• Experience owning delivery of data pipeline workstreams and data warehouse solutions in cloud environments.
• Hands-on production experience improving data models, ETL/ELT processes, and pipeline orchestration.
• Experience partnering with cross-functional teams to shape technical solutions and delivery plans.
• Confident SQL skills on modern data warehousing platforms, including performance-aware design; Snowflake is preferred.
• Hands-on experience building and improving ETL/ELT pipelines, data transformation models, and Python data processing components; IICS or equivalent and dbt are preferred.
• Experience operating cloud data services and orchestration frameworks for production workflows; AWS and Airflow are preferred.
• Practical DevOps and DataOps experience with CI/CD, version control, and infrastructure as code; GitHub Actions and Terraform are preferred.
• Ability to choose and apply engineering patterns and technical standards for defined workstreams.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field; mandatory English proficiency.
• Ability to use approved AI-enabled tools in accordance with hirify.global’s Responsible AI and data governance standards.
