Legal Counsel (Defence Digital)

Location: Ottobrunn, Germany, in the Munich area

What you will do

• Advise Defence Digital on regulatory frameworks, defence procurement contracts, cooperation agreements, and strategic partnerships.
• Support national and international bids by reviewing requests for proposals, identifying legal risks, and proposing mitigation measures.
• Draft and negotiate teaming, cooperation, partnership, joint venture, commercial, and other transaction agreements.
• Advise stakeholders on commercial, corporate, procurement, IT, intellectual property, EU, digital, investment, M&A, and arbitration law.
• Manage litigation support, claims, waivers, contract templates, subsidiaries, and relationships with external legal advisors.
• Support digital business models including SaaS, IaaS, PaaS, AI, cloud, and cyber initiatives, while providing legal and compliance training.

Requirements

• Advanced German law degree, including the 2nd German State Examination.
• 8–10 years of professional legal experience in a multinational company or law firm, ideally in the defence and security sector.
• Strong knowledge of commercial, corporate, public procurement, IT, antitrust, data protection, and digital law.
• Fluent English and negotiation-level German are required.
• Strong contract drafting and negotiation skills, with an autonomous, proactive, collaborative, and solution-oriented approach.
• Security clearance or eligibility for clearance by the recognized authorities is required.

Nice to have

• Experience with French or Spanish.
• Experience in defence and security, digital transformation, or modern digital tools.
• Willingness to travel.
