Accountant (Fintech)

What you will do

• Conduct month-end and year-end closing activities, including journal entries, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Reconcile sub-ledgers with the general ledger and maintain the chart of accounts.
• Investigate unusual or significant account fluctuations and resolve reconciliation issues with cross-functional teams.
• Document accounting policies and procedures and uphold financial control processes.
• Monitor transactions for compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements, addressing control weaknesses through corrective actions.
• Identify opportunities for ERP and process automation and help eliminate operational inefficiencies.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in accounting, financial control, or a related field.
• ACCA, CA, or an equivalent professional certificate.
• Experience in fintech, technology, or financial services.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and IFRS financial reporting standards.
• Experience with closing procedures, reconciliations, chart of accounts maintenance, and financial control processes.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, strong analytical and communication abilities, and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of Oracle NetSuite.
• Experience with Islamic Finance and shariah-compliant products.
