Head of Finance (Fintech)

What you will do

• Own the Kuwait entity’s general ledger, chart of accounts, accounting manual, month-end close, reporting pack, and balance sheet substantiation.
• Prepare statutory financial statements, manage group consolidation, intercompany reconciliation, related-party disclosures, and payment-service-provider reconciliations.
• Prepare and submit Central Bank of Kuwait regulatory and prudential reports and support licensing, capital adequacy, and regulatory capital monitoring.
• Manage Kuwait tax obligations, statutory filings, corporate registrations, social insurance, labour requirements, and sector-specific compliance.
• Design the financial control framework, lead the annual external audit, and maintain accounting policies, process narratives, and technical position papers.
• Recruit and lead a local finance team while partnering with Group Finance, Legal, Compliance, Risk, and Treasury during the Kuwait market launch.

Requirements

• ACA, ACCA, CPA, CA, or equivalent professional accounting qualification.
• 8–12+ years of progressive finance experience, including Big Four audit or advisory experience and ownership of a controllership function.
• Deep IFRS expertise, including preparation of audited financial statements and technical position papers.
• Hands-on IFRS 9 expected credit loss experience in lending, consumer finance, BNPL, banking, or receivables-intensive businesses.
• Experience in a regulated financial-services environment and knowledge of Kuwait or transferable GCC regulatory, tax, and statutory requirements.
• Based in Kuwait; professional Arabic is essential for statutory, regulatory, and audit interaction. Fluent English is required.

• Experience launching a legal entity, licence, or new market, including incorporation, systems setup, and first audit.
• Fintech, payments, or high-growth technology experience.
• Multi-entity group reporting, consolidation, receivables financing, securitisation, or debt facility reporting experience.
• ERP implementation, reporting automation, and experience working with large datasets.
