TL;DR
Legal Operations Manager (China) (Commercial Legal/Manufacturing): Providing contracting, governance and risk-management support for LEGO Manufacturing Jiaxing and business stakeholders across China with an accent on commercial agreements, Chinese regulatory requirements and operational legal guidance. Focus on negotiating agreements, managing contractual obligations, improving legal workflows, and contributing to legal technology and automation.
Location: Shanghai, with at least one day per week at Manufacturing Jiaxing; hybrid workplace policy with an average of 3 days per week in the office

What you will do
- Provide practical legal and contracting support to Manufacturing Jiaxing and business stakeholders across China.
- Draft, review and negotiate commercial agreements and advise on contractual risks, obligations and options.
- Partner with Operations, Procurement and related functions to identify and manage legal and commercial risks.
- Support corporate secretarial matters, governance activities and compliance with applicable Chinese laws and regulations.
- Simplify and standardise legal processes, workflows, templates, guidance and ways of working.
- Contribute to legal technology, automation, digitalisation, reporting, data quality and continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in law or an equivalent recognised legal qualification.
- Qualified lawyer admitted to practise in China.
- Fluent Mandarin Chinese and excellent written and spoken English are essential.
- 7–10 years of relevant post-qualification legal experience in a law firm, multinational organisation or comparable business environment.
- Strong commercial legal experience, preferably involving manufacturing, procurement, supply chain or operational environments.
- Excellent understanding of Chinese contract, commercial and regulatory laws relevant to business operations.
Nice to have
- Experience in a multinational, manufacturing, consumer goods or supply chain-focused organisation.
- Experience supporting operations in China within an international or matrixed environment.
- Experience collaborating with regional and global Legal teams.
- Experience with legal operations, process improvement, contract lifecycle management or legal technology.
