WASH Specialist P3/P4 (NORCAP Emergency Response Roster fill up)

What you will do

• Conduct rapid WASH needs assessments, identify service gaps and public health risks, and prioritise emergency response actions.
• Plan, implement and monitor emergency water supply, water treatment, sanitation and hygiene interventions.
• Provide technical guidance and quality assurance in line with humanitarian and WASH standards, including Sphere standards.
• Coordinate with UN agencies, NGOs, authorities, WASH Cluster mechanisms, service providers and affected communities.
• Support integrated responses with Health, Nutrition, Protection, Shelter and site management sectors.
• Strengthen partner and national capacity through technical coaching, knowledge transfer and transition planning.

Requirements

• At least 7 years of international humanitarian experience, including at least 3 missions in complex, high-risk or hardship emergency settings at coordination or management level.
• Recent operational emergency experience and prior UN or inter-agency experience.
• Demonstrated experience in emergency WASH programming, needs assessments, gap analysis, response monitoring and adaptive field implementation.
• Strong knowledge of emergency water supply, water quality, sanitation, hygiene interventions, outbreak response and public health risk management.
• Experience with humanitarian coordination, inclusive WASH programming, protection mainstreaming and capacity strengthening.
• Full professional English proficiency and at least one of French, Arabic, Portuguese or Spanish are required.
