Lead Engineer, Innovation (AI)

Location: Onsite in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia

What you will do

• Design and implement autonomous AI agents capable of planning, reasoning, and achieving defined goals.
• Integrate AI agents with external APIs, databases, and software tools.
• Fine-tune models, improve prompt engineering, and enhance retrieval-augmented generation architectures.
• Build frameworks to evaluate agent performance, reliability, and safety.
• Maintain guardrails and oversight for automated workflows.
• Collaborate with product, business, and program management teams to deliver corporate systems.

Requirements

• At least 8 years of software engineering experience, including 5+ years designing and building scalable systems.
• Experience leading engineering teams, making technical decisions, and establishing engineering standards.
• Proficiency in Python or comparable programming languages, API design, and large language models.
• Knowledge of machine learning principles, data structures, and algorithms.
• Experience with databases, microservices, and system architecture.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
