Quality and Reliability Engineer (Semiconductor Manufacturing)

Location: Penang, Malaysia; hybrid work model with time split between the hirify.global site and off-site work

What you will do

• Assess inline process health, excursion impact, yield risks, defect mechanisms, and packaging implications across silicon processing and wafer fabrication.
• Drive root cause analysis and systemic corrective and preventive actions using 8D and related problem-solving methods.
• Partner with fab, substrate, assembly, test, process engineering, quality, supplier, and customer teams to improve process controls and outgoing quality.
• Lead excursion management, including containment, product risk assessment, material disposition, MRB facilitation, and customer communication.
• Improve quality controls using statistical process control, defect Pareto analysis, control plans, audits, and excursion prevention indicators.
• Support EMIB and Foveros technology certification, transfer activities, reliability monitoring, and manufacturing data analysis.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Materials Science, Physics, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, with relevant semiconductor manufacturing experience.
• Alternatively, a bachelor’s degree with at least 5 years of relevant semiconductor manufacturing experience.
• Experience with quality and reliability methodologies, excursion management, and failure mode analysis.
• Proficiency in statistics and data analytics tools for quality and reliability assessments.
• Familiarity with QnR quality systems and tools, plus effective written, verbal, and meeting communication skills.
• Ability to work across geographies in a diverse environment with a strong quality and zero-defect mindset.
