Aircraft Performance Engineer

Airbus Defence & Space develops fixed-wing aircraft and air-power solutions through its Flight Physics Centre of Competence.

What you will do

• Own aircraft performance deliverables for current and future fixed-wing aircraft programmes, research and technology activities, and certification processes.
• Support aircraft design, derivatives, and evaluation of aircraft and engine configuration changes.
• Carry out performance studies for sales campaigns, RFPs, customer enquiries, and customer services flight operations.
• Support flight data analysis for development, certification, training, and incident or accident investigations.
• Maintain and harmonize performance tools and data, improve technical documentation, and develop the Aircraft Performance service portfolio.
• Implement digitalization, technology roadmaps, and continuous improvements while collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Aeronautical Engineering.
• 3–5 years of experience in aircraft performance development, flight testing, and certification.
• Negotiation-level English is required.
• Ability to travel as required and work effectively under pressure.
• Strategic thinking, methodical execution, problem-solving, organizational, communication, collaboration, and conflict-management skills.
• Customer focus, ownership mentality, and commitment to continuous improvement.

Nice to have

• German or Spanish language skills.
