Area Manager (Car Rental Operations)

Location: Hobart, Australia; responsibility for Hobart Airport and City locations

What you will do

• Lead operations across the Hobart Airport and City locations.
• Achieve sales targets, KPIs, and profitability goals through upselling and effective fleet utilisation.
• Analyse performance trends, manage P&L, control costs, and implement action plans.
• Coach, mentor, and hold a high-performing team accountable.
• Optimise rostering, fleet presentation, and vehicle availability according to demand.
• Deliver premium customer service and ensure compliance with safety and operational standards.

Requirements

• Experience in sales-led retail, operational management, or customer service; car rental experience is desirable.
• Strong leadership, coaching, communication, and relationship-building skills.
• Commercial mindset with P&L responsibility and confidence analysing KPIs and financial data.
• Highly organised, proactive, adaptable, and able to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment.
• Current full driver's licence and full Australian working rights required.
• Successful applicants must complete a National Criminal History Check.
