Hands-On Backend Team Lead (SaaS)

Location: Israel, based out of the Tel Aviv or Jerusalem hubs

What you will do

• Spend approximately 80% of the time on hands-on backend development.
• Lead, onboard, mentor, and manage a team of at least five software engineers.
• Break down work, create high-level designs and estimates, and drive delivery of high-quality products.
• Own technical decisions, relevant repositories, the codebase, CI/CD pipeline, and DevOps infrastructure.
• Monitor system stability, update and replace third-party libraries, and resolve technical blockers.
• Coordinate team syncs, manage the Jira board, and collaborate with product stakeholders and other teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• 7+ years of experience as a hands-on backend developer in a B2B SaaS startup.
• 4+ years of experience leading a team of five or more people.
• Excellent technical, diagnostic, troubleshooting, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong leadership, decision-making, ownership, and results-oriented capabilities.
• Ability to explain complex technical, architectural, and organizational problems and propose iterative solutions.
