Network & Security Engineer (Cybersecurity)

What you will do

• Own customer-aligned KPIs covering patch time, coverage, and availability, including monthly reporting accuracy.
• Prioritize critical findings, classify risk, advise system owners, and lead complex remediation across network, security, server, virtualization, and cloud infrastructure.
• Patch and upgrade next-generation firewalls, NAC, IPS/IDS, routers, switches, servers, and cloud systems.
• Represent the service at the client Change Advisory Board and enforce change governance, rollback controls, and audit-ready evidence.
• Coordinate daily work between onsite and offsite engineers, provide technical escalation support, and mentor two engineers.
• Lead root-cause analysis, exception governance, quality assurance, reporting, runbook maintenance, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• 6–10 years of experience in network and security engineering with strong vulnerability management expertise.
• Hands-on experience with next-generation firewalls such as Palo Alto or Fortinet, Cisco ISE NAC, IPS/IDS, network devices, servers, virtualization, and cloud infrastructure.
• Experience using Qualys for vulnerability scans, details, and reporting.
• Strong knowledge of routing and switching, segmentation, Windows/Linux, virtualization, Azure, CVSS, exploitability, and remediation strategy.
• Experience with ITIL change management, CAB processes, SLA/KPI governance, enterprise or government stakeholders, and mixed onsite/offsite delivery teams.
• Strong communication, leadership, mentoring, documentation, and ownership skills.

Nice to have

• CCNP Security, CCIE Security, PCNSE, Fortinet NSE, Cisco ISE, Qualys VMDR, CISSP, CISM, or ITIL certifications.
• Experience owning KPIs and audits for a government client.
