Senior Agentic AI Engineer

Location: Toowong, Brisbane, Australia; predominantly office-based with regular in-person attendance required

Salary: AUD 120,000–160,000 per annum

What you will do

• Design and build production AI agents from concept through deployment.
• Develop integrations using REST APIs, OAuth, webhooks, and third-party platforms.
• Own architecture, infrastructure, deployment, monitoring, logging, alerting, and ongoing optimisation.
• Evaluate models, frameworks, and platforms based on performance, cost, and reliability.
• Build secure systems handling sensitive business and personal information, including mitigation of prompt injection and untrusted tool risks.
• Guide a small technical team, review architecture and code, and contribute to AI strategy and build-versus-buy decisions.

Requirements

• Full Australian working rights required.
• Senior-level experience shipping and operating agentic AI systems in production.
• Strong REST API and systems integration experience, including OAuth, webhooks, rate limiting, retries, and error handling.
• Experience with compute infrastructure, deployment, monitoring, evaluation, testing, version control, and AI security.
• Strong documentation, communication, and leadership skills within a small technical team.
• Experience with agentic platforms such as Claude Agent SDK, MCP, LangGraph, CrewAI, n8n, Microsoft Agent Framework, or comparable tools.

• Experience in regulated or compliance-heavy environments.
• Startup or founding team experience.
• Strong TypeScript and Python skills.
• Full-stack development and modern web application deployment experience.
• Experience with Australian privacy and data protection requirements.
