TL;DR
Systems Test Engineer (Satellite Communications): Integrating, configuring, and testing remote sensing antenna systems and satellite communications terminals with an accent on RF validation, networking, electrical safety, and system-level verification. Focus on factory acceptance testing, diagnosing complex RF and control issues, and documenting performance against FCC, CISPR, and MIL-STD requirements.

Location: On-site at the Duluth, Georgia facility; up to 10% travel

Salary: $95,000–$149,500 annually. For specific locations in San Jose, the San Francisco Bay Area, and the New York City metropolitan area: $117,500–$176,500 annually.

What you will do

  • Lead or support factory testing and integration of large-scale remote sensing antenna systems and airborne satellite communications terminals.
  • Integrate and configure RF, network, mechanical, and control-system interfaces using drawings, bills of materials, and test plans.
  • Set up and operate microwave analyzers, power meters, signal generators, digital multimeters, and oscilloscopes.
  • Lead customer-witnessed factory and production acceptance tests and represent hirify.global during in-factory testing.
  • Prepare technical reports, test procedures, integration documentation, and corrective-action records.
  • Provide remote support to field integration engineers and contractors during antenna commissioning.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of experience in system testing, integration, or commissioning of RF systems, antenna systems, or satellite communication terminals.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering program, or an Electronics Associate degree with equivalent professional experience.
  • Ability to perform system-level verification, interpret wiring diagrams and schematics, and troubleshoot integrated systems independently and with System Engineers.
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP tools and communication interfaces including SSH, SNMP, UDP, and serial communications.
  • Experience with RF measurements including G/T, EIRP, BERT, S21, S11, VSWR, system gain, and frequency conversion, plus servo and industrial control systems.
  • U.S. citizenship and on-site work at the Duluth, Georgia facility are required.

Nice to have

  • Experience with SATCOM, remote sensing, and airborne antenna terminals using HPAs, converters, and LNAs across S, X, Ka, and Ku bands.
  • Knowledge of FCC, CISPR, MIL-STD, and other electromagnetic compatibility requirements.
  • Experience with engineering standards, automation, toolchain modernization, or AI automation.
  • Experience collaborating across engineering, operations, and quality teams.
