Configuration Management Specialist (Satellite Communications)

Location: San Diego, California; on-site

Salary: $75,000–$105,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.

What you will do

• Manage configuration items, documentation, change control boards, and lifecycle activities for the CGN Narrowband Satellite Communications Program.
• Prepare and maintain Configuration Management documentation for completeness and compliance.
• Schedule and coordinate Change Control Boards and document implementation outcomes, including Engineering Change Proposals.
• Collaborate with Program Management, Risk, Quality, Engineering, and other stakeholders to integrate Configuration Management practices.
• Automate Configuration Management processes using approved tools while maintaining compliance with policies and quality standards.
• Support the CM plan and coordinate the release of artifacts and artifact packages in alignment with Space Systems Command policy.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in mathematics, engineering, business, or the sciences.
• Strong organizational, coordination, and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Basic understanding of lifecycle management, documentation processes, or Configuration Management software tools.
• Interest in learning and applying Configuration Management principles in a fast-paced technical environment.
• Security clearance required.

Nice to have

• Exposure to Space Systems Command policy.
• Hands-on experience with Configuration Management or related tools.
