Manager, Additive Manufacturing

Location: Long Beach or Torrance, California, United States. The role is performed in a hands-on manufacturing environment and requires lawful access to information and technology subject to US export controls.

Salary: $135,020–$185,660 USD per year, plus equity and discretionary results-based incentive opportunities.

What you will do

• Own throughput, quality, safety, inspection, and qualification across part removal, media blast, heat treat, build plate resurfacing, and inspection operations.
• Build, train, and develop technicians and frontline leaders while establishing rigorous qualification standards and succession plans.
• Implement standardized work, controls, audits, documentation, and compliance systems aligned with AS9100, military standards, and certification requirements.
• Lead cost reduction, yield improvement, equipment utilization, operational dashboards, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Develop automation and capability roadmaps, including media blast automation, build plate resurfacing equipment, robotics, and processing for new materials and alloys.
• Partner with factory development, engineering, quality, maintenance, logistics, and program teams to scale work centers into future factories and resolve bottlenecks and failure modes.

Requirements

• Must be able to lawfully access US export-controlled information and technology.
• Proven leadership experience in high-reliability, high-accountability, procedure-driven environments.
• Experience leading operations, maintenance, or production teams in complex technical manufacturing environments.
• Familiarity with qualification programs, audit and compliance systems, risk management, root-cause resolution, and system reliability improvement.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and systems-thinking skills, with the ability to work both on the shop floor and at the systems level.
• Requires standing, walking, bending, reaching, handling precision tools and materials, and lifting up to 40 lbs independently or 50 lbs with assistance.
