TL;DR
Senior Manager, Advanced Manufacturing Maintenance (Automation/Diagnostics): Leading maintenance operations and a multidisciplinary technical team supporting highly automated immunoassay manufacturing equipment in an FDA-regulated diagnostics environment with an accent on equipment reliability, uptime, compliance, and continuous improvement. Focus on designing predictive and preventive maintenance strategies, troubleshooting PLC/HMI, robotics, vision, and motion-control systems, and driving data-based improvements to OEE, MTTR, and MTBF.

Location: On-site in Chaska, Minnesota, United States

Annual salary: $175,000–$190,000, plus bonus or incentive pay

What you will do

  • Lead and develop a cross-functional team of equipment and automation technicians.
  • Design and execute preventive, predictive, corrective, condition-based, and data-driven maintenance strategies.
  • Troubleshoot and repair automated equipment involving electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, robotics, vision, motion control, and PLC/HMI systems.
  • Support installation, commissioning, qualification, and lifecycle management of new and upgraded automation equipment.
  • Partner with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain on audits, deviations, and change control.
  • Track uptime, MTTR, MTBF, and OEE while driving Lean/Six Sigma continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field with 14+ years of experience, or a master’s degree with 12+ years of experience.
  • Experience in maintenance, engineering, or operations, preferably in regulated manufacturing such as medical devices, diagnostics, pharmaceuticals, or biotechnology.
  • At least 4 years of experience leading technical teams.
  • Strong expertise in electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and automation systems.
  • Working knowledge of PLC/HMI platforms, preferably Rockwell, as well as robotics, vision systems, and industrial networks.
  • Ability to support a fast-paced, high-volume environment, including off-shift or on-call operations.

Nice to have

  • Experience in IVD, medical device, pharmaceutical, life sciences, diagnostics, or reagent manufacturing.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification or higher.
  • Experience with digital maintenance tools, IoT, and Industry 4.0 technologies.
