Developmental Technician, Facility Services General Maintenance

Location: Lansing, Michigan, United States; onsite at a Sam's Club facility

Salary: $23.00–$45.00 per hour, plus possible hourly premiums of $0.35–$3.00 in specific circumstances.

What you will do

• Maintain and repair facilities, equipment, fixtures, and other retail assets under the supervision of an experienced technician.
• Use plumbing, electrical, carpentry, material handling equipment, and food equipment skills to complete maintenance work.
• Receive reactive repair work orders, respond to store requests, and document repair activities in the work order management system.
• Respond promptly to emergency maintenance calls.
• Inspect, operate, and test facilities, equipment, and fixtures to diagnose issues.
• Complete required safety training for equipment and tool operation.

Requirements

• At least 18 years old and a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid state-issued driver's license and ability to pass a motor vehicle report; an excellent driving record is required.
• Either one year of experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or a related area, or two years of Walmart store experience.
• Ability to read and speak English as required by Federal Motor Carrier Safety regulations.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, frequently use ladders, work at heights, sit or stand for extended periods, and work in varying temperatures.

Nice to have

• Commercial driving record meeting the stated safety standards.
• Experience reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
• Experience using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.
• Intermediate proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software.
