Process Development Senior Scientist (Biotechnology)

What you will do

• Characterize pre-clinical therapeutic protein candidates, including primary structure, chemical modifications, and post-translational modifications.
• Develop and execute biochemical characterization assays using mass spectrometry, liquid chromatography, peptide mapping, and intact-protein LC-MS workflows.
• Plan experiments supporting candidate selection, process development, method transfers, comparability studies, and acceptance criteria.
• Use automation platforms and liquid-handling systems for sample preparation and analytical workflows.
• Generate technical documents and presentations, and provide scientific results for regulatory submissions, patents, and publications.
• Evaluate emerging technologies for mass-spectrometry-based characterization of therapeutic proteins.

Requirements

• PhD in analytical chemistry, biochemistry, pharmaceutical sciences, physical sciences, chemical engineering, or biological sciences; alternatively, a PharmD, MD, master's degree with three years of scientific experience, or bachelor's degree with five years of scientific experience.
• Expertise in mass spectrometry of proteins, peptides, and glycans.
• Experience with Thermo mass spectrometers, Agilent and Thermo HPLC systems, and data acquisition software such as Chromeleon.
• Experience with BioPharma Finder, Skyline, Byonic, Byos, Expressionist, or comparable mass spectrometry data-processing software.
• Biotechnology industry experience, including data and statistical analysis, process or method transfers, and comparability studies.
• Strong laboratory, scientific problem-solving, written communication, oral communication, and presentation skills.
