Associate Scientist, Protein Characterization (Biotechnology)

What you will do

• Perform protein analytical techniques to support formulation and process optimization.
• Assess biotherapeutic stability as a function of formulation and process.
• Support development candidate nomination and technology transfer activities.
• Characterize proteins using analytical and biophysical techniques, including light scattering, circular dichroism, fluorescence, Amide I FTIR, DSC, and sub-visible particle analysis.
• Document experiments in an electronic laboratory notebook and collaborate across teams and programs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering, Bioengineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related field with 4+ years of relevant hands-on experience, or a Master’s degree with 3+ years of experience.
• Solid understanding of protein biotherapeutics, including stability and formulation challenges.
• Experience analyzing protein molecules using standard analytical or biophysical techniques.
• Strong written and oral communication skills, organization, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects.
• Ability to work effectively in dynamic, culturally diverse teams and demonstrate hirify.global’s core values.
• Must work full-time in person at the Bridgewater, New Jersey office.

Nice to have

• Experience with automated chromatography workstations such as AKTA FPLC systems and multidimensional purification strategies.
• Scientific publications using relevant protein characterization techniques.
