Location: Houston, Texas, United States; hybrid schedule with up to 40% remote work

What you will do

  • Lead hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, drainage studies, and impact analyses for stormwater and water resources projects.
  • Develop solutions for open channels, closed conduit systems, stormwater pump stations, detention and retention ponds, and drainage impact mitigation.
  • Support drainage master planning, regional flood planning, and reviews of proposed developments.
  • Prepare and review FEMA floodplain studies, CLOMRs, and LOMRs.
  • Lead technical reports and engineering deliverables while maintaining quality and consistency.
  • Guide multidisciplinary teams, mentor junior engineers, and support project schedules, financial tracking, invoicing, and client communication.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a comparable engineering or applied science field.
  • Texas Professional Engineer registration or the ability to obtain Texas registration within six months.
  • 6+ years of related engineering experience.
  • Strong experience in hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, stormwater infrastructure, and drainage analysis.
  • Ability to provide technical leadership, mentor junior staff, and support project management.

Nice to have

  • Experience with HEC-HMS and HEC-RAS, including steady-flow, unsteady-flow, and 2D modeling.
  • Experience with ArcGIS, Microsoft Office, InfoWorks ICM, or XP-SWMM.
  • Experience preparing drainage studies, floodplain analyses, and stormwater planning projects.
