Data Engineer (Healthcare)

Location: Remote within the United States; occasional travel may be required.

Salary: $120,000–$140,000 per year, plus benefits and stock options.

What you will do

• Design and develop data architecture, database structures, taxonomies, storage plans, interfaces, and data loading and maintenance processes.
• Build and operate pipelines that capture, cleanse, transform, route, and store structured and unstructured data from internal and external sources.
• Develop secure, high-quality production code and review or debug code written by other engineers.
• Support SaaS operations by monitoring KPIs and ensuring service reliability, availability, performance, and operational readiness.
• Implement secure multi-tenant systems with strong data isolation.
• Collaborate with Implementation, Product Management, Architecture, BI, Quality Engineering, and other engineering teams to gather requirements and solve complex technical problems.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Expertise in data architecture, business intelligence systems, ELT development, data transformation, data modeling, reporting, and BI dashboard development.
• Excellent programming skills in Python or Java.
• Strong relational database design, scalability, and SQL experience, including querying and extracting data.
• Knowledge of ETL, data structures, metadata, workflow management, Agile development, and enterprise software releases.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field; experience with JIRA and strong analytical and communication skills.

• Experience with AWS.
• Healthcare industry experience.
• Familiarity with HIPAA, SOC, or HITRUST requirements.
• Passion for Agile methodologies.
