Senior Clojure Backend Software Engineer (AI)

Location: Remote in Latin America and Europe

Salary: $7,000–$10,000 USD per month

What you will do

• Build and scale AI-powered backend infrastructure and workflows for fashion and retail experiences.
• Design PostgreSQL schemas, model complex domains, optimize queries, and manage database migrations.
• Integrate LLM APIs such as GPT and Gemini, including prompt engineering and production output management.
• Orchestrate multi-step workflows with Temporal or similar workflow orchestration tools.
• Implement RAG pipelines using vector databases such as Qdrant.
• Build internal human-in-the-loop review interfaces with ClojureScript, re-frame, and related ecosystem tools.

Requirements

• Strong production experience with Clojure and deep functional programming knowledge.
• Comfort with ClojureScript, shadow-cljs, re-frame, and reagent.
• Solid PostgreSQL and SQL experience, including schema design, optimized queries, and migrations.
• Hands-on experience with LLM APIs, prompt engineering, context windows, and non-deterministic production outputs.
• Experience with Temporal or similar workflow orchestrators such as Airflow or Step Functions.
• Advanced English fluency for discussing complex technical designs and participating in live engineering syncs.

Nice to have

• Experience with Qdrant, Pinecone, Weaviate, or other vector databases and RAG architectures.
• Knowledge of image generation, multimodal AI models, or MCP.
