Assistant General Manager (Student Housing): Supporting the General Manager in operating a student housing community, with an accent on staff leadership, resident services, property administration, facilities, turnover, and financial performance. Focus on coordinating inspections and vendors, managing resident accounts and escalations, executing annual turnover, and maintaining property standards and customer satisfaction.

Location: Alight Norman, Norman, Oklahoma, United States; work is required at the assigned property. Daytime business hours may include additional non-traditional hours during peak periods and emergencies, with periodic travel possible.

What you will do

  • Support the General Manager with daily operations, business functions, community policies, procedures, and emergencies.
  • Assist with recruiting, hiring, training, coaching, development, scheduling, and leadership of onsite staff.
  • Manage resident accounts, utility billing, accounts receivable, audits, notices, evictions, collections, and damage charges.
  • Maintain safe, sanitary, and compliant facilities through property walks, inspections, preventative maintenance, work orders, and vendor coordination.
  • Plan and execute the annual turnover process, including move-out inspections, damage assessments, unit preparation, furniture and appliance moves, cleaning, and deadline tracking.
  • Support customer experience and sales initiatives, respond to escalated resident concerns and online reviews, and use KPIs to improve leasing and revenue performance.

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of experience working in living communities or property management.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, confidentiality, adaptability, and a customer-centric mindset.
  • Proficiency with property management systems; Entrata is preferred.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.
  • Ability to work onsite at the assigned property and handle additional hours during peak periods and emergencies.
