Senior IT Security Specialist

Location: Remote within the continental United States; applicants must already be authorized to work for any U.S. employer. Employment visa sponsorship is not available.

Salary: $57,400–$63,000 USD annually

What you will do

• Monitor and triage alerts from SIEM, EDR/XDR, firewall, email security, and cloud security tools.
• Conduct initial investigations, document findings, and escalate potential incidents to senior staff and the MSSP.
• Support identity and access management, including provisioning, access reviews, MFA, and SSO.
• Support vulnerability scanning, remediation tracking, security checks, and configuration tuning.
• Contribute to threat research, phishing simulations, security awareness, incident response, and security documentation.
• Provide 24/7 availability for identity and access management, incident response, and escalation activities.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of IT experience, with cybersecurity experience strongly preferred.
• Foundational knowledge of cybersecurity, networks, systems, cloud environments, endpoint security, firewalls, DNS security, and content filtering.
• Exposure to EDR/XDR, email security, phishing protection, identity and access management, MFA/SSO, and M365/Azure security features.
• Familiarity with vulnerability scanning, SIEM monitoring, event triage, and basic incident response.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, documentation, organizational, and prioritization skills.
• Must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Current certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Azure Security Engineer, or CCNA Security.
