Lecturer of Nursing/Assistant Professor of Nursing Nursing

Location: Texarkana, Texas, United States; onsite attendance is required.

What you will do

• Teach BSN, ADN-BSN, and/or MSN courses in classroom, clinical, simulation, online, and hybrid formats.
• Supervise students during clinical and experiential learning and verify competency in nursing procedures.
• Advise students and participate in admissions, progression, probation, dismissal, and academic guidance processes.
• Develop, implement, evaluate, and revise nursing curricula and program standards.
• Contribute to university and healthcare-sector service, program growth, and collaborative relationships with regional healthcare entities.
• Participate in independent or collaborative research and extramurally funded projects.

Requirements

• Eligibility to work in the United States is required at the time of hire; pre-employment visa sponsorship is not authorized.
• Unencumbered RN license in Texas or an unencumbered RN Compact license.
• At least four years of nursing practice experience.
• Master of Science in Nursing, or a closely related master’s degree with 12 completed nursing graduate credit hours.
• For Assistant Professor rank, a terminal degree such as Ph.D., DNP, or Ed.D. is required; qualified ABD candidates may be considered at Instructor rank until the doctorate is conferred.
• Regular onsite teaching, meetings, office hours, travel, and occasional work beyond normal office hours are required.

Nice to have

• Experience with Canvas, Blackboard, or another online learning management system.
• Classroom and clinical teaching experience.
• Experience with accreditation standards, medical-surgical or critical care nursing, and current clinical practice.
• Professional activities, a research agenda, and scholarship related to nursing or nursing education.
