DevOps Engineer (Biotech)

Location: El Segundo, California, or remote within the United States depending on the offer letter

Salary: $135,000–$150,000 annual base pay for the Los Angeles premium market; discretionary bonus and equity may also be available.

What you will do

• Architect reproducible infrastructure using Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, or similar infrastructure-as-code tools.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines integrating source control, automated testing, container registries, and release gates.
• Manage Kubernetes workloads, including deployments, networking, storage, Helm charts, and resource governance.
• Implement container hardening, RBAC, network policies, secret management, vulnerability scanning, and other DevSecOps controls.
• Design observability systems with metrics, logging, dashboards, alerts, and distributed tracing using tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, and Elastic Stack.
• Collaborate with development, QA, security, and product teams while documenting infrastructure, runbooks, SOPs, and operational procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, plus 5+ years of relevant experience.
• 3+ years of experience in DevOps, site reliability engineering, or infrastructure engineering.
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI, or ArgoCD.
• Hands-on proficiency with Kubernetes, Helm, Linux, Git, container registries, networking, and infrastructure as code.
• Strong scripting skills in Bash, Python, or similar languages, plus experience implementing security controls and vulnerability scanning.
• Ability to work in El Segundo, California, or remotely within the geographic location specified in the offer letter.

Nice to have

• Experience working in a pharmaceutical or biotechnology organization.
• Knowledge of security frameworks such as NIST CSF, SOC 2, or ISO 27001.
