Senior Staff Systems Engineer, GTM (AI)

Location: Oakland, California, United States; hybrid work with two days in the office each week

What you will do

• Own the development and governance of reusable code libraries and agent rules for internal AI-enabled web applications.
• Design and implement scalable distributed data pipeline features and performance improvements across cloud environments.
• Develop, test, review, troubleshoot, and productionalize software and infrastructure.
• Partner with business stakeholders, product managers, customer support, and engineering platform teams to deliver reliable applications.
• Advise engineering leadership on secure AI-assisted development, productionization, and deployment practices.
• Participate in on-call rotations, hiring, and mentoring junior developers.

Requirements

• 5+ years of software industry experience solving complex engineering problems and designing reusable libraries or experimentation platforms.
• Experience with distributed systems, cloud security, cloud technologies, and containerization such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Strong ability to write performant, well-structured code and independently lead software and infrastructure design.
• Experience with code reviews, design, troubleshooting, testing, and continuous integration tools such as BuildKite.
• Programming experience in an object-oriented or systems language such as Java, C++, or C#.
• Ability to use AI coding assistants and conversational AI systems to support software development lifecycle artifacts and engineering work.

Nice to have

• Experience with observability tools such as New Relic or Grafana.
• Experience in data processing, ETL, ELT, or cloud-based platforms.
