Product Manager, Payments & Checkout (Fintech)

Location: Remote within the United States

Salary: $169,000–$250,000 USD per year

What you will do

• Own the roadmap for checkout conversion, payment authorization, BNPL adoption, fraud and risk trade-offs, and payment-cost efficiency.
• Identify checkout friction and run experiments to improve completion rates.
• Partner with payment processors and networks to reduce declines and recover failed transactions.
• Expand BNPL and alternative payment methods for fans and merchants.
• Manage payment processors, BNPL providers, and wallet partners, including partner evaluation and commercial negotiations.
• Connect payment initiatives to transaction growth, average order value, and acceptance costs.

Requirements

• Track record of shipping product changes that produced measurable business outcomes.
• Strong cross-functional partnership with engineering, design, and data.
• Experience owning payments, checkout, or fraud and risk in a consumer marketplace, fintech, or high-volume e-commerce environment.
• Understanding of authorization, processing, payment routing, conversion, and payment costs.
• Experience managing vendor and processor relationships, negotiating terms, and evaluating partners.
• Data-driven approach with comfort using SQL and analytics to diagnose funnel and payment performance.
