Product Manager (Payments)

Location: Remote, hybrid, or onsite; employees must reside in CA, IL, TX, MN, CO, GA, CT, NY, or MA, United States. The office is located in Santa Barbara, California.

Salary: $140,000–$150,000 per year

What you will do

• Own the product vision, strategy, quarterly roadmap, backlog, and lifecycle for the Payment Experience domain.
• Manage the Virtual Terminal, surcharging, card and alternative tender types, ACH, BNPL through Sunbit, Apple Pay, and login/security experiences.
• Drive surcharge enrollment, tender-type adoption, processing revenue, merchant retention, and deal enablement.
• Conduct merchant discovery, analyze usage and support data, review competitive experiences, and validate initiatives before and after launch.
• Navigate card-brand rules, PCI scope, state surcharge regulations, and Nacha/ACH requirements as product design constraints.
• Collaborate with engineering and stakeholders on sprint planning, refinement, execution, prioritization, and domain communication.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience as a Product Manager or in a similar product leadership role.
• At least 3 years working with Agile/Scrum teams, including sprint planning, refinement, and backlog management.
• Direct payments, acceptance, or processing experience, including authorization, capture, settlement, interchange, and funding.
• Experience designing products within surcharge legality, card-brand, PCI, Nacha/ACH, and state regulatory constraints.
• Experience owning merchant-facing or SMB-facing products and delivering measurable revenue, adoption, retention, or deal-enablement outcomes.
• Experience with B2B SaaS product management and multi-tenant products.

Nice to have

• Experience with BNPL, alternative tender types, or payment method expansion.
• Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, and product discovery or intake tools.
• CSPO, PSPO, or equivalent product management certification.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, or a related field.
