Measurement Technician (Natural Gas)

Location: Carlsbad, New Mexico, United States. Requires working 12-hour shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

What you will do

• Install, operate, inspect, maintain, test, and calibrate natural gas measurement equipment.
• Provide technical support for metering and regulation stations in the assigned geographic area.
• Monitor measurement system performance, troubleshoot anomalies, and perform root cause analysis.
• Repair and maintain flow computers, mass flow meters, turbine meters, Coriolis meters, gas chromatographs, sulfur analyzers, and related devices.
• Configure and program telemetry units used in smart metering.
• Oversee meter proving, witness third-party calibrations, and maintain accurate regulatory documentation.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Ability to pass a drug test and background check.
• Knowledge of calibration, data quality, gas measurement fundamentals, and industrial instrumentation.
• Understanding of gas metrology standards from API, AGA, GPA Midstream Association, and related organizations.
• Ability to recognize operational safety risks and apply appropriate controls.
