Measurement Technician (Natural Gas)

Location: Onsite at the NGPL Gueydan, Louisiana compressor station, with alternate locations considered in Lafayette or Eunice, Louisiana. Regular work is Monday through Friday with nights-and-weekends on-call responsibilities.

What you will do

• Install, inspect, test, adjust, maintain, operate, troubleshoot, repair, calibrate, and remove measurement, control, regulation, and gas quality equipment.
• Monitor gas volumes, identify measurement errors, apply corrections, and document custody transfer and control data.
• Interpret electrical and electronic schematics for EFM and measurement electronics.
• Maintain assigned pipeline facilities and equipment, oversee third-party construction or maintenance work, and complete projects within established budgets and timelines.
• Identify and correct safety and environmental concerns while following company, regulatory, tariff, and PHMSA requirements.
• Respond to callouts and emergencies, including after-hours work, overtime, and limited overnight travel.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent and 1–3 years of pipeline experience; job level is commensurate with experience and skills.
• Knowledge of measurement-related instrumentation, basic mathematics, computer systems, and environmental and safety requirements.
• Valid driver’s license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers; a commercial driver’s license may be required.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, organize and document assignments, communicate effectively, and work in a team.
• Ability to work in extreme weather, low-lit areas, confined spaces, elevated platforms, ladders, and other physically demanding environments while wearing required personal protective equipment.
• Successful completion of a drug screen and background check is required before employment.

Nice to have

• Two-year technical degree in electrical, electronics, or an equivalent field.
• Experience with gas chromatography, AC and DC electrical systems, NEC measurement requirements, and AGA standards.
• Experience with all phases of natural gas measurement and safe handling of gas and liquid products.
