Model Based Systems Engineer (Expert) (MBSE)

Location: On-site in Chantilly, Virginia, United States; minimal travel and standard working hours.

Salary: $150,000–$187,000 USD annually.

What you will do

• Deliver foundational digital engineering approaches supporting engineering and mission systems analysis processes.
• Develop enterprise-level DE and MBSE methods for space and intelligence architectures, systems, acquisitions, and lifecycle development.
• Ensure models, data, and information are accessible, interconnected, structured, reusable, and aligned with organizational goals.
• Guide federated modeling across the enterprise and mission partners.
• Provide technical advice to senior managers on MBSE methods and techniques.
• Demonstrate complex modeling concepts and best practices to stakeholders while maintaining established MBSE guidelines.

Requirements

• An active/current TS/SCI clearance with polygraph is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline and 10+ years of experience.
• Deep systems engineering knowledge and expert-level digital engineering and MBSE experience.
• Experience with IC customer ground and/or space-based engineering within systems engineering teams.
• Understanding of data science concepts, relational and non-relational databases, ontology, UAF, or SysML.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with teammates and stakeholders.

Nice to have

• OCSMP SysML Model Builder Fundamental Concepts Certification, Level 2.
• Knowledge of Cloud/IaC, data analytics, DevSecOps, AWS, Azure, containerization, or microservices.
• Experience with satellite and other space-based technologies, operations research, systems analysis, digital threads, or digital twins.
• Ability to mentor and train systems engineers.
