Senior Systems Engineer (Aerospace & Defense)

Location: Lone Tree, Colorado, United States; hybrid work environment with occasional travel

Salary: $143,487.14–$197,294.82 per year, plus performance-based annual incentive pay

What you will do

• Lead requirements engineering, systems integration, verification and validation, and model-based systems engineering activities.
• Oversee complex system and decision analyses, technical planning, and technical risk management.
• Manage major project deliverables and support architecture and design development.
• Monitor technical performance and manage systems across the lifecycle.
• Influence project direction through leadership, communication, and collaboration.
• Mentor and guide systems engineering team members.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field; a higher relevant degree may substitute for experience.
• 10+ years of experience in systems engineering or a related field.
• Expert proficiency with systems modeling and simulation tools.
• Experience with requirements management, functional requirements parsing, derivation and allocation, systems design, integration, technical risk management, and V&V.
• Leadership experience in systems engineering and experience working in multidisciplinary design and development teams.
• Active Secret U.S. Security Clearance and U.S. citizenship are required for employment.

Nice to have

• Experience with real-time operating systems, embedded systems, DOORS, Cameo, or MATLAB.
• INCOSE standards experience or CSEP certification.
• Aerospace and defense industry background.
• Experience leading baseline definition, maturation, and high-impact trade studies.
• Agile methodology experience or Scrum Master certification; ability to obtain and maintain Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
