Fabric Architect (Microsoft Fabric)

Location: USA; full EST working-hours coverage is required.

Salary: USD 200,000–225,000 per year.

What you will do

• Design end-to-end Microsoft Fabric architectures using OneLake, Lakehouse, Data Warehouse, pipelines, notebooks, and Power BI.
• Define medallion architecture, ingestion patterns, data modeling standards, governance, security, lineage, and data-quality practices.
• Build enterprise Power BI semantic architectures with dimensional models, star schemas, DAX, calculation groups, and governed measures.
• Design batch, near-real-time, and event-driven integrations using Data Factory, Dataflows Gen2, Spark, SQL, notebooks, APIs, and external data sources.
• Optimize Fabric capacity, Delta tables, SQL workloads, pipelines, semantic models, and reports for performance, scalability, resilience, and cost.
• Lead architecture reviews, proofs of concept, technical assessments, troubleshooting, documentation, and cross-team technical direction.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, business intelligence, analytics architecture, or enterprise data-platform delivery.
• Production experience designing and implementing Microsoft Fabric solutions, with deep knowledge of OneLake, Lakehouse, Data Warehouse, Data Factory, notebooks, pipelines, semantic models, and Power BI.
• Strong understanding of medallion and data-lake architecture, Delta Lake, Parquet, dimensional modeling, star and snowflake schemas, and slowly changing dimensions.
• Advanced SQL skills and strong working knowledge of Python or PySpark.
• Experience with Power BI semantic models, DAX, Power Query, calculation groups, storage modes, performance optimization, security, governance, and data quality.
• Experience with Git-based development, automated testing, CI/CD, deployment pipelines, environment management, stakeholder management, and technical leadership.

Nice to have

• Microsoft Fabric certifications DP-600 and/or DP-700, Power BI, Azure data, or architecture certifications.
• Experience in investment management, asset management, fixed income, financial products, risk, compliance, or distribution datasets.
• Experience with Microsoft Purview, Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Key Vault, and Azure Monitor.
• Experience integrating or migrating Snowflake, Databricks, Oracle, SQL Server, and legacy data platforms to Microsoft Fabric.
• Knowledge of data mesh, domain-oriented architecture, data products, federated governance, real-time intelligence, and semantic-model automation.
