Data Engineer (Fintech)

Location: Must be based in or able to work on-site in San Francisco or New York City

Salary: $135,000 – $190,000 + Equity

What you will do

• Design and own the end-to-end data infrastructure, including ingestion, transformation, and modeling pipelines.
• Build a semantic layer to ensure a single source of truth for analytics, reporting, and AI/ML systems.
• Develop canonical data models to normalize heterogeneous financial data from ERPs and payment processors.
• Implement data quality, lineage, and observability frameworks to ensure system reliability.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to define KPIs and drive strategic business decisions.

Requirements

• 3+ years of hands-on experience building production data pipelines using Python.
• Strong proficiency in SQL and modern cloud data warehouses like Snowflake or BigQuery.
• Deep experience implementing ETL/ELT workflows using tools such as dbt or Airflow.
• Solid understanding of data modeling fundamentals and canonical schema design.
• Experience working with SaaS APIs, ERPs, and third-party financial integrations.
• Must have authorization to work in the United States.

Nice to have

• Experience partnering with ML or applied AI teams on feature pipelines.
• Domain knowledge in fintech, B2B SaaS, or AR/AP workflows.
