TL;DR
R&D Engineer - Electrical Custom Solutions (Electrical Engineering/Custom Solutions): Designing customer-specific electrical systems using nVent products with an accent on lightning protection, grounding, bonding, flexible connections, and engineering documentation. Focus on analyzing technical requirements and 2D/3D design data, supporting quoting and manufacturing, and improving engineering-service processes.
Location: Solon, Ohio, United States; hybrid work arrangement

What you will do
- Analyze customer requirements documents, construction drawings, 2D prints, and 3D models.
- Design custom solutions for lightning protection, grounding, bonding, and flexible connections.
- Provide technical guidance and support the sales team and customers during the quoting process.
- Produce engineering documentation for customer review and approval.
- Collaborate with manufacturing during design and production and work with other engineers on product applications.
- Use engineering design and simulation software while improving engineering-service processes and customer experience.
Requirements
- Academic background in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, architectural, civil, industrial, metallurgical, or another relevant engineering discipline.
- Experience understanding technical requirements, using engineering software, and producing engineering documentation.
- Ideally 3+ years of experience in an engineering function.
- Experience with SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office.
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills and close attention to detail.
