Associate Software Developer (AI Test Automation)

Location: Reading, United Kingdom; office attendance is required five days per week. Occasional travel to laboratories, other offices, customer sites, and deployment locations may be required. Up to 30 days per year of work from any location worldwide is available as a temporary flexibility benefit.

What you will do

• Create, maintain, execute, and review functional, integration, system, regression, and hardware-software test cases.
• Validate end-to-end workflows involving embedded systems, biometric and peripheral devices, gates, kiosks, monitoring applications, and backend services.
• Develop and maintain automated test frameworks and suites using AI-driven automation techniques.
• Perform hardware validation, compatibility, performance, stress, and failure-diagnostic testing.
• Investigate defects using application and device logs, database evidence, network traces, and debugging tools.
• Collaborate with development, product, delivery, and engineering teams on test planning, defect resolution, documentation, deployments, and release readiness.

Requirements

• Approximately 1–2 years of software testing, system testing, hardware validation, or related engineering experience.
• Practical knowledge of software testing methodologies, defect management, regression testing, and test evidence.
• Mandatory practical experience using AI tools for test automation, including test design, generation, review, maintenance, or optimization.
• Experience creating and maintaining automated tests and troubleshooting integrated hardware-software solutions.
• Working knowledge of at least one programming or scripting language, such as Java, C#, Python, or JavaScript.
• Understanding of APIs, databases, logs, version control, CI pipelines, Agile practices, and the ability to work from the office five days per week.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of hardware devices, hardware-software integration, and hardware validation.
• Experience with Robot Framework, Selenium, Playwright, Appium, REST-assured, or equivalent tools.
• Exposure to Azure DevOps, test-management tools, SQL, REST APIs, Linux or Windows administration, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Testing or automation certification and awareness of secure testing, accessibility, performance testing, or operational monitoring.
