EPICS Control Systems Engineer

Location: Everett, Washington, United States; onsite role with 0–10% travel.

Salary: $103,579–$134,518 annually, with the range specific to Washington State.

What you will do

• Develop consistent HMI templates in Phoebus for multidisciplinary experiments.
• Develop LabVIEW control code for CompactRIO devices and PLC/PLA code in Structured Text.
• Integrate LabVIEW control systems, sensors, and control hardware with EPICS.
• Help define a unified control system strategy across experiments and facilities.
• Support experimental data acquisition, system shakedown, and R&D testing.
• Apply nuclear industry best practices and maintain strong safety standards in hazardous testing environments.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Controls, Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering, Physics, or an equivalent field, plus 3+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience programming control systems in LabVIEW and integrating systems with EPICS.
• Experience developing HMIs and working with data acquisition for complex engineering systems with varied sensors and instruments.
• Experience operating on OT control systems networks during active experiments.
• Ability to collaborate with engineers, scientists, and technicians while managing multiple objectives.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills.

Nice to have

• Advanced degree.
• Experience with Siemens, Beckhoff, or NI PLCs/PLAs and their integration with EPICS.
