Non-Destructive Testing Tool Inspector, Level II (Aerospace)

Location: Blue Ash, Ohio; the role will be located at the Cincinnati, Ohio facility. U.S. citizenship is required because the position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued security clearance.

What you will do

• Set up, standardize, and independently perform fluorescent penetrant inspection (FPI/PT) on aerospace hardware.
• Interpret and evaluate indications, apply acceptance criteria, determine acceptance or rejection within certification authority, and document results.
• Verify equipment standardization, system performance checks, process controls, and material checks; contain and escalate nonconforming conditions.
• Maintain inspection records, traceability, process logs, and nonconformance documentation in an audit-ready condition.
• Guide and supervise trainees and Level I personnel as permitted by the NDT written practice.
• Support root-cause investigations, corrective actions, process improvements, cross-functional issue resolution, and internal, customer, and regulatory audits.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED; technical or trade-school education in nondestructive testing, inspection, manufacturing, engineering technology, or a related discipline is preferred.
• Must meet the formal training, examination, vision, and certification requirements for Penetrant Testing Level II under NAS 410 Revision 6 and hirify.global' approved NDT written practice.
• With prior Level I certification, a minimum of 16 additional formal PT training hours and 270 applicable experience hours is required; direct access to Level II requires 32 formal training hours and 400 applicable experience hours.
• Demonstrated experience performing and evaluating FPI on aerospace or other high-reliability hardware.
• Strong knowledge of FPI/PT principles, process limitations, equipment, system checks, manufacturing discontinuities, technical documentation, and problem-solving.
• Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued security clearance.

Nice to have

• Current or previous NAS 410 or EN 4179 PT/FPI Level II certification.
• Experience inspecting aerospace castings, forgings, weldments, machined components, or additively manufactured hardware.
• Experience in AS9100 or Nadcap-accredited special-process environments.
• Additional NDI certifications or training in magnetic particle, radiography, ultrasonic, or eddy current testing.
