Principal Architect (AI)

Location: Hybrid work model; offices in New York, London, Singapore, and Tel Aviv.

What you will do

• Own the end-to-end architecture of the real-time conversational and offline video platform, defining boundaries between speech, avatar, and agentic layers.
• Set platform direction for speech pipelines, orchestration and transport frameworks, model routing, and build-versus-adopt decisions.
• Architect the integration of new built, adopted, or acquired capabilities into a converged target architecture.
• Design for latency, cost, reliability, and graceful degradation across multi-tenant production systems.
• Define long-term memory, privacy, consent, retention, erasure, residency, interfaces, engineering standards, and technical governance.
• Prototype future capabilities, analyze traces and benchmarks, and communicate architecture decisions to research, engineering, product, executives, and customers.

Requirements

• B.Sc. in Computer Science or an equivalent technical field.
• 12+ years of industry experience, including 5+ years as a principal, staff, or lead architect owning system-level design for a production platform.
• Experience architecting distributed, multi-tenant production systems at scale with accountability for latency, cost, and reliability.
• Strong cloud experience and hands-on expertise with agentic systems, LLMs, orchestration, tool calling, MCP, retrieval, and production failure modes.
• Experience with real-time streaming systems, latency budgeting, graceful degradation, AI evaluation, tracing, and observability.
• Strong Python skills and a hands-on approach to writing and reviewing production code.

Nice to have

• Experience at a SaaS company or with speech technologies such as ASR, TTS, or speech-to-speech.
• Experience with generative video, avatar generation, diffusion or flow-matching models, and real-time media frameworks.
• Experience with enterprise governance, compliance, and multilingual systems.
• M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related field.
