Staff Cyber Security Engineer (Cybersecurity)

Location: Fully remote from a non-hirify.global worksite, most commonly an employee’s residence; role associated with New York, United States

Salary: $125,000–$155,000 yearly, bonus eligible

What you will do

• Conduct end-to-end security and threat analysis for new or modified enterprise technology deployments.
• Design and review secure systems aligned with cybersecurity and enterprise technology strategies.
• Provide technical expertise across network, application, cloud, and enterprise security controls.
• Develop security guidance and mitigation requirements in partnership with cybersecurity, IT, and business stakeholders.
• Communicate cybersecurity programs and services to technical and non-technical audiences.

Requirements

• 8+ years partnering with business and technical teams to architect and deliver cybersecurity solutions.
• 8+ years consulting on threat mitigation best practices across areas such as perimeter, application, core systems, endpoint, and cloud security.
• Advanced technical knowledge in at least one cybersecurity area and understanding of threats affecting network, cloud, web, and application environments.
• Knowledge of OWASP Top 10, CWE/SANS Top 25, and security design best practices.
• Experience developing security guidelines, documenting secure designs, and using diagramming tools.
• Strong written, verbal, presentation, collaboration, prioritization, and mentoring skills.

Nice to have

• Threat analysis and modeling experience with MITRE ATT&CK or similar frameworks.
• Familiarity with Cloud Security Matrix, NIST CSF, and CIS Critical Security Controls.
• Knowledge of PCI DSS, SOX, HIPAA, GDPR, and CCPA.
• Experience with IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, incident response, cybersecurity operations, and GRC.
• Ability to balance security requirements with engineering and operational needs.
