Software Engineer - Runtime Platform, Robot Software (Autonomous Driving)

Salary: $176,500–$220,800 per year, plus an equity package

What you will do

• Investigate latency and performance bottlenecks across the vehicle software stack.
• Instrument code with profiling tools and metrics to collect performance data and identify optimization opportunities.
• Integrate and evaluate profiling and instrumentation tools, benchmark system performance, and establish baselines.
• Collaborate with multiple teams to understand performance pain points and prioritize optimization efforts by impact.
• Optimize critical code paths and algorithms to improve runtime efficiency, reduce latency, and enhance system performance.

Requirements

• Proficiency with performance profiling tools and techniques for identifying and resolving system bottlenecks.
• A proven track record of methodical experiment evaluation.
• Strong technical knowledge of operating-system scheduling, computer architecture, memory hierarchy, CPU caches, context switches, and thread synchronization.
• Ability to work in a hybrid setup based in Sunnyvale, California.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with NVIDIA performance tools such as NV Nsight, NV Lumos, and tegrastat.
• Familiarity with observability tools including Grafana, Databricks, and Datadog.
• Familiarity with QNX and Momentics.
