Automation Software Engineering Intern (Robotics)

Location: On-site in Austin or San Francisco, United States

Salary: $114,000–$131,000 annualized, paid hourly, plus a housing stipend

hirify.global is an early-stage hardware startup developing semiconductor fabrication equipment, including the hardware and software needed to make chips.

What you will do

• Develop real-time applications in Linux and Rust to control semiconductor fabrication equipment.
• Design algorithms and simulations for robotic control systems.
• Improve the efficiency of robots and accelerate semiconductor fabrication processes.
• Take ownership of interdisciplinary projects and mission-critical engineering work.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a similar field.
• Proficiency in Python, C, or C++.
• Demonstrated experience in robotics software.
• Familiarity with motor controllers, path planning, and trajectory control.
• A portfolio, such as GitHub, demonstrating software engineering projects is required to apply.
• Availability for an on-site winter-term internship beginning in January, with a preferred commitment of 4–8 months.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with feedback control systems.
• Experience developing computer vision applications.
• Proficiency in Rust.
