Technology Risk Director (AI)

Location: Hybrid in Newark, New Jersey, United States

Salary: $120,000–$150,000 per year, plus bonus eligibility

What you will do

• Conduct technology risk assessments across infrastructure, applications, cloud platforms, cybersecurity, data, and technology services.
• Identify control gaps, evaluate inherent and residual risks, and track remediation activities through closure.
• Review technology initiatives, architecture changes, and strategic programs from an independent risk perspective.
• Assess cloud-native architectures, APIs, microservices, containers, identity and access management, resilience, and data protection controls.
• Support AI and Generative AI governance, including privacy, model governance, explainability, security, and responsible AI assessments.
• Develop risk dashboards, metrics, KRIs, management reports, and continuous monitoring capabilities using automation and analytics.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in technology risk, information security, technology governance, cyber risk, cloud risk, infrastructure engineering, technology operations, or a related discipline.
• Experience working in large-scale enterprise technology environments and assessing cloud, infrastructure, applications, cybersecurity, or technology transformation risks.
• Strong knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP; IAM; cybersecurity controls; networking; distributed systems; SDLC; DevOps; databases; resilience; APIs; containers; and microservices.
• Experience with one or more of Python, SQL, Power BI, Power Automate, Tableau, or data analytics and reporting platforms.
• Understanding of AI, Generative AI, AI governance, responsible AI principles, and emerging technology risk implications.
• Familiarity with NIST CSF, NIST AI RMF, COBIT, CIS Controls, FFIEC Technology Risk Guidance, or ISO 27001, plus a bachelor's degree in a related field.
